Requiem for the Lonely

Close your eyes and you will see
A land of rock and dust.
A world of pain and misery
Where the sun rarely shines.
Where one corrupts many
And many corrupt one.
Where you must find the lies in the truth
For lies are currency
And anarchy isn’t anarchy at all.
Where to fight is to play,
Domination the goal,
And power the prize.
To love means pain,
And pain means death.
No requiem for the lonely
No hope for the lost
No fortune for the poor
No trust for the hurt.
Where honour means little
And respect even less.
A place where nothing is what you come with,
Nothing is what you gain
And nothing is what you leave with.
A place that you call home.
